about
Our Parade is a lover's plea. It's a bit dreamy, but it grooves.
The guitar part is from a song that didn't cut it, and I built the tune around the creamy grittiness of the interesting chord shapes. The bass just went and did its own thing. It wanted to be George Murray's bass, but was stuck with me. It was around Christmas, and time was fluid. The rest is history.
No owls or rabbits were harmed during its making.
lyrics
Do you think we can?
Can I be your man?
Will you stay with me your whole life span?
Please let it be
We’ve got things to see,
what will we be?
I‘ll count you in, this jazz ain’t free
1. 2. 3.
And if we start to fade, we’ll laugh and spark and fall apart
as we go on parade, the one the universe must start
I’ve got plans for you and your petting zoo
We’ll free them all when we are through
we’ll be kind and carefree
Put your fears aside in formaldehyde
no looking back with blinkered eyes
Stay with me
And if we start to fade, we’ll laugh and spark and fall apart
as we go on parade, the one the universe must start
I have a plan, just hold my hand
the world won’t care we’ll soon be gone,
we’ll disappear into the sun
You’re my gleaming star, my caviar, my top-down, black stealth flying car
you’re my fur-lined glove, I can’t get enough
I asked the moon is this thing love?
I need you free
And if we start to fade, we’ll laugh and spark and fall apart
as we go on with our parade,
the one the universe must start
I have a plan, just hold my hand
the world won’t care we’ll soon be gone,
we’ll disappear into the sun

Nostalgia brings a beautiful peace. Annika's songwriting is melancholic but comforting as with her singing, delicate and angelic. The Cello is heart melting and the vocal harmonies and guitar playing are enchanting. That's why I love this album. Angie Blue
